Volunteering is often described as a way to help others, but those who have had the opportunity to volunteer know that it is an experience that enriches the giver the most. The story of Rukajja, a member of the Volunteer Club of the 'Bistri Izvor' Association, who spent three unforgettable days with children from the Home for Children without parental care Sarajevo on a winter retreat in the village of Ledići on Bjelašnica Mountain, is a testament to the power of love, empathy, and solidarity.

Heavy snowfall transformed the village of Ledići on Mount Bjelašnica into a true winter wonderland. This idyllic, sunlit scene welcomed a group of children and their caregivers from the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo. For the first time, the children had the opportunity to spend three unforgettable days enjoying winter activities outdoors, as well as creative, educational, and ecological workshops in a house built back in 1922. The house was successfully equipped by Foundation Second, thanks to the generous support of numerous donors.
