Organized by Foundation Second, on the last day of February, a group of the youngest residents of the Cantonal Public Institution Home for children without parental care Bjelave, along with six children with developmental difficulties from the Small Family Home in Sarajevo, spent an unforgettable day on Mount Igman, enjoying the hospitality of the staff at Hotel Monti.

Welcomed with smiles, warm hugs, and a delicious breakfast, generously provided by Hotel Monti, their day started even better than they could have imagined. After enjoying the hotel's specialties, they set off on a walk through Igman in search of the last traces of snow, hoping to relive the joys of winter. As soon as they found a spot still bravely resisting the warmth of the sun, they indulged in childlike play—jumping in the snow and having snowball fights. However, as the day progressed, the sun grew stronger, bringing an early spring feeling.

They continued their adventure at Hotel Monti’s outdoor playground, where they had unlimited access to all facilities, also provided free of charge thanks to the kindness of their hosts. The youngest were gently rocked on swings by their caregivers, while the older children enjoyed playing on the equipment. Before heading to the village of Ledići, where the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo received a house for use for the next 99 years—successfully furnished by Foundation Second with the support of donors—the children enjoyed warm tea, cakes, and pancakes given to them as a gift.

In Ledići, they were welcomed by chef Nedžad Mešić with a delicious lunch prepared from carefully selected organic ingredients from local producers, which Foundation Second had thoughtfully chosen.

The group will spend the weekend in this house, enjoying mountain activities with the support of volunteers, creating memories filled with joy and carefree moments.
