A group of 35 children and 10 caregivers from the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo spent several unforgettable days in Italy, visiting the renowned amusement park Gardaland for the first time. This unique experience provided the children with an opportunity to relax, have fun, and embark on new adventures, creating memories they will cherish for a lifetime.

For older children, the trip was an opportunity to broaden their horizons, while the younger residents simultaneously enjoyed winter activities in Ledići, on Mount Bjelašnica near Sarajevo, Bosnia. The organization of this trip was initiated by the new management of the Home in collaboration with the Second Foundation, which has demonstrated its dedication to creating positive changes in the lives of children without parental care through years of committed work.

Particularly noteworthy was the support of the Sami Čamdžić Fund, which covered the costs of admission tickets and meals at Gardaland. The Sami Čamdžić Fund, known for its understanding and support of projects significant to the social development of children, recognized the importance of this trip as an opportunity to strengthen social skills, foster personal growth, and create joyful memories.

“The trip to Gardaland was a dream come true for the children from the Home. We are thrilled to have been able to provide them with the joy and excitement of visiting one of the most famous amusement parks in Europe. We thank the Sami Čamdžić Fund for their continued support and trust in our work, as well as all the caregivers who selflessly put in the effort to ensure the trip went smoothly,” said Belma Mujezinović, director of Foundation Second.

During their stay in Italy, in addition to Gardaland, the children had the chance to explore the beauty of nearby cities and landscapes, further enriching their experience. Bonding, laughter, and shared adventures strengthened the sense of unity among the children and their caregivers.

This initiative once again highlights the importance of such projects for children growing up in institutional environments. By giving them opportunities to experience something new, we teach them to dream big, discover new horizons, and believe in a better future.

Foundation Second continues its work on similar projects, hoping to bring smiles to the faces of children who deserve love, care, and opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.
