Two years ago, in collaboration with BHT and editor Antonela Pehar Šimunović, the documentary film "Kućica za odmor" ("A Little Holiday House") was filmed at the premises of the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo and a house in the village of Ledići on Bjelašnica Mountain. The film premiered on February 26, 2023, on BHT, and its touching story left a lasting impression on viewers.

The documentary offers an intimate look into the daily lives of children in the Home, their activities, dreams, and aspirations—especially their longing to spend time in the mountains, where they could experience freedom, peace, and the beauty of nature. Through the process of furnishing the house in Ledići, viewers witnessed the immense effort, love, and dedication invested by the Second Foundation and its donors to create a space where children can learn, heal, and simply enjoy the childhood they deserve.

A special highlight of the film is Catbarn —a planned therapeutic space for children's interaction with cats, which was one of their favorite parts of the experience. The film features a workshop with the cats, documented through photographs and the children's experiences. Caring for animals helps them develop a sense of responsibility, gentleness, and inner calm—offering invaluable emotional support in their daily lives. Unfortunately, Catbarn has yet to be built, but it remains one of the Second Foundation's key future goals.

Today, two years later, what was once just a dream has become a reality. Children from the Home finally have the opportunity to spend time in the mountains, breathe fresh air, and engage in various activities that contribute to their physical and emotional well-being.

These photos from the filming remind us of how every step was crucial on the path to fulfilling this dream. The House in Ledići is no longer just an idea—it is a safe haven, a place of happiness, and a space where children are creating memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.
