Representatives of Second Foundation and the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo visited the house in the village of Ledići on Bjelašnica mountain yesterday, which they are jointly equipping for children and their caregivers to enjoy extended stays during weekends, winter, and summer breaks.

Architect Merima Delić from the studio "Dimenzija" was commissioned to design the space, and the Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo conducted a tender process, selecting the most favorable contractor, after which most of the necessary furniture was delivered. Thus, this authentic house, built in 1922, is now furnished with 24 beds, bedside tables, and wardrobes, creating the essential conditions for a comfortable stay in a mountain setting.

The director of Second Foundation, Belma Mujezinović, emphasized the importance of this project: “This house offers children a unique opportunity to connect with nature, acquire new skills, and enjoy an environment that allows them to rest, rehabilitate, and develop through various activities. We are grateful to our partners and donors who recognized the value of this space.”

Muhamed Musić, director of the Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo, added, “This project is of immense value for our children, providing them with an escape from the urban environment and a chance to stay in nature. The house in Ledići is already becoming a place where our children will create memories, learn about togetherness, and develop a sense of belonging.”

Second Foundation is currently seeking donors to further equip the space with lighting, carpets, and additional supplies for the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. These additional elements will provide children with the comfort and warmth of home while they enjoy all the benefits of staying on Bjelašnica.
