During a visit to the house in Ledići on Bjelašnica, which the Home for children without parentaCcl are Sarajevo received for long-term use from the proBITRA Foundation, yesterday the director of the "Second" Foundation, Belma Mujezinović, and the director of the Home, Muhamed Musić, took another step towards achieving a shared vision for improving the lives of the children.

The house, built in 1922, was partially renovated before the handover, while in the last two years, the Second Foundation, with the support of donors, ensured its insulation and infrastructure improvements.

Thanks to donations from the British Embassy, Thermoflux, KNAUF, KNAUF Insulation, LUK, HIFA Oil, Senigor, and Bijela Tehnika, the building has been significantly improved to create suitable conditions for the children’s stay. This project not only offers the children an opportunity to stay outside the city but also to participate in quality educational and recreational activities in the natural environment of Bjelašnica mountain.

The reason for yesterday’s visit was the continuation of furnishing the house with furniture, designed by architect Merima Delić from Studio Dimenzija. The furniture will be financed by the Home for Children, as the tender process was successfully completed and a contractor was selected. The contractor’s representative was also present during the tour to finalize the furnishing details with the architect. It is expected that the house will be fully furnished within the next month, opening the possibility for the first group of children to spend winter days in Ledići as soon as the first snow falls.

“This house represents much more than just a place to stay – it is a symbol of hope and opportunity for the children to feel the warmth of a home and nature. Through our collaboration with the Home and the support of our donors, we have created a space that will offer refuge and joy, especially during the winter days. We are confident that the children will enjoy every moment spent here,” said Belma Mujezinović, director of the Second Foundation.

This project symbolizes the continuation of the successful cooperation between the "Second" Foundation and the Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo, with the support of numerous partners who are working together to provide a better future for children from vulnerable social categories. With the first snow, the children will have the opportunity to experience winter in the warm, safe, and inspiring environment of the house in Ledići.
