The Second Foundation successfully raised funds amounting to 3000 EUR, which will be used for monthly donations of 250 EUR for the next year to assist a grandmother and her granddaughter from Sarajevo, who are facing difficult life circumstances.

After the girl tragically lost her mother, her grandmother took over her care. The grandmother, already in her advanced years, is facing significant challenges in providing for their basic needs. They are currently forced to leave the house they have been living in, and the funds raised by the Second Foundation will be of immense help in finding new accommodation and securing basic necessities.

Belma Mujezinović, Director of the Second Foundation, met the grandmother and granddaughter at a meeting at the relevant social welfare center, which was also attended by Amina Pohara, Head of the Family and Child Support Service, and Vesna Stanišić, Senior Associate for Psychological Affairs. The family is included in the program of this Service, which operates within the Cantonal Public Institution Home for Children without Parental Care, and the Second Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with this institution. This ensures additional support and assistance for the family in need.

The girl, who will be entering the second grade of primary school this year, is exceptionally diligent and dedicated to her studies despite the challenging circumstances. Her grandmother is doing everything in her power to provide a stable and secure environment for her upbringing.

Belma Mujezinović, Director of the Second Foundation, emphasized the importance of protecting the privacy of the individuals they raise funds for: "We protect the identities of those we collect funds for to ensure their privacy and dignity. It's important that those in need are not exposed to the public, as this could cause additional stress, stigmatization, and feelings of shame. Our goal is to provide support and assistance discreetly, allowing them to focus on recovery and a better life without fear of public judgment or unwanted attention."

The Second Foundation, thanks to generous donors and kind-hearted people, managed to raise enough funds to ensure regular monthly donations, which will provide at least some relief and security in the coming year.

"Our service works to help families stay together and avoid the risk of separating the child and placing them in a home, which can occur due to poor economic conditions. This donation will be immensely helpful to the grandmother and granddaughter. Their situation is difficult, but this assistance will allow them to focus on finding new accommodation and securing basic needs," said Amina Pohara, Head of the Family and Child Support Service.

This story is a reminder of how important it is for us as a community to be united and provide help to those who need it the most. Thanks to the donors of the Second Foundation, the grandmother and her granddaughter can look to the future with more hope and faith that the coming days will bring the necessary stability and security.
