Foundation "Second" has once again demonstrated its humanity and solidarity ahead of the upcoming Eid by providing food and hygiene packages worth 100 EUR each to eight families at risk of separation. These families are part of the Family and Child Support Service program of the Cantonal Public Institution "Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo."

In today's times, family functioning difficulties are becoming more pronounced. Unfortunately, harsh living conditions, the struggle for survival, and the changing social value system are pushing many families to the brink of separation, with children being at risk of being removed from their homes. To prevent this, it is essential to recognize a family at risk in time and take preventive action.

Among the eight families that received assistance from the "Second" foundation are:

  • Two single fathers. One father has two children, and the other has three. These fathers struggle to make a living by doing temporary jobs after being abandoned by their wives.
  • Two single mothers. One mother cares for a baby, while the other has as many as eight children. Both mothers face daily challenges in providing for their families' basic needs.
  • Two families of five (each with three children) who are in difficult financial situations. In one of these families, a boy has developmental difficulties, while in the other, the mother is seriously ill, further complicating their situation.
  • Two kinship families who have had children returned to them from the "Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo." These families face the challenges of adjusting and reuniting after the children’s return.

The packages provided by the "Second" foundation contain essential food products and hygiene supplies, easing the everyday lives of these families and allowing them to celebrate Eid with dignity and joy. This action by the "Second" foundation is yet another example of how timely support can prevent family separation and help them stay together despite the challenging circumstances they face.

Through such initiatives, the "Second" foundation not only addresses immediate needs but also raises awareness about the importance of preventive work and support for families at risk. We hope that such examples will inspire other organizations and individuals to engage in similar activities and help those in greatest need.
