A few years ago, a tragic event forever marked the childhood of five children from Sarajevo. They were left orphaned, and today their home is an institution that cares for children without parental care.

However, thanks to the efforts of the "Second" Foundation, these days they have been given the opportunity to create new, happier memories.

In cooperation with friends of the Foundation, Director Belma Mujezinović organized a special excursion for these children. Her wish was to provide them with experiences they would fondly remember when they grow up and leave the Orphanage at Bjelave. The destinations were Konjic, Blagaj, and Mostar. Along with the Director of the "Second" Foundation, the children were accompanied by Amina Pohara, Head of the Family and Child Support Service, and Vesna Stanišić, a psychologist at the Orphanage.

During the one-day trip, for which the van was provided by the Bosnian Tour Operator, the children talked about their memories, recalling places they visited with their parents. One of these places was a bakery in Čelebići, where they stopped for breakfast.

In Blagaj, they played by the river Buna, skipping stones on the water. After playing, they enjoyed ice cream and local cherries, and the youngest boy received a battery-operated police car as a gift.

In Mostar, the other children also got what they wanted: the oldest boy got a flag of the football club "Željezničar", and the girl got a white cap with the NY logo. The remaining two boys were satisfied with the pocket money they would spend in Sarajevo.

A boat ride under the Old Bridge was a special attraction for the three bravest boys, after which they headed to the "Kaldrma" restaurant for a real gastronomic treat.

After lunch, they continued to Fortica Hill, where the oldest boy and the girl went down the children's zip line, while the younger ones enjoyed the swings. Together, they walked on the glass walkway and enjoyed the view of Mostar.

On the way back, they made a stop in Konjic to treat themselves to pancakes at one restaurant. The children laughed and recounted the day's experiences. As they headed back to Sarajevo, they spent the last hours of the trip sleeping and laughing in the back seat of the van.

This trip was an opportunity to create new, beautiful memories for the five children. Tired but happy, they returned to the Orphanage with smiles on their faces and gratitude towards everyone who made this unforgettable day possible.
