The solemn ceremony of opening the renovated courtyard of the Home for Children without Parental Care in Sarajevo was held on April 29, on the International Day of Play. Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo, Samir Avdić, together with numerous guests, attended the event, emphasizing the importance of every child's right to a happy childhood.

"Today, on the International Day of Play, we gift our children a new oasis of joy and happiness," said Avdić, emphasizing that every child must have equal rights and opportunities for a happy childhood.

This significant project was supported by the City of Sarajevo with an amount of 15.000 EUR. This support enabled the arrangement of a green play and rest area for children, the installation of benches, climbing paths, and didactic games on wall panels, along with horticultural landscaping.

Play is the foundation of children's development, and the renovated courtyard now provides a space where every child will feel encouraged to explore, learn, and develop their skills.

The director of the Second Foundation, Belma Mujezinović, also attended the solemn opening of this important space.

"I am pleased that I was able to connect the architect Narcisa with the previous director of the Home for Children without Parental Care, who expressed the desire to renovate the courtyard of the Home and adapt it to the needs of the children. The architect did the project for free, applied for funds, and today we are all delighted with the new space for the children," said Belma Mujezinović.

This initiative represents an important step in ensuring a quality upbringing for children without parental care in Sarajevo, providing them with a safe place for play, learning, and socialization. Investing in their happiness and future is crucial for building a better society.
