The "Second" Foundation initiative to help a family in a village near Maglaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which lacked funds to furnish their little house, is slowly becoming a reality. Thanks to generous donations and community support, this young married couple will soon have a warm home where they can create new memories.

S.D. has faced numerous challenges from a very young age. Abandoned as a baby in an orphanage in Sarajevo, she was diagnosed with a rare inherited disorder causing bone fragility and breakage. Nevertheless, her willpower and strength were unbroken. After spending 13 years in the orphanage, S. was taken in by a distant family. At 18 years old, she married the love of her life. Despite the challenges, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy and started building her own home.

Her husband, a construction worker, works tirelessly to ensure a better future for their family. However, the lack of funds has delayed the completion of their little house near Maglaj. They needed construction materials, carpentry, household appliances, and much more.

The "Second" Foundation recognized their struggle and decided to support them. Together with friends and donors, they raised funds to ensure that this brave family gets a warm home.

"I visited them during Ramadan, along with a girl from the orphanage who will soon return to her mother. Since we recently renovated and furnished an apartment for that girl, she suggested that we also help her friend who spent several years in the orphanage with her. After the visit, we decided to support this brave woman and her family," said Belma Mujezinović, director of the "Second" Foundation.

Thanks to generous donations, construction materials and a window have already been purchased, and an anonymous company owner has donated burglar-proof doors. According to estimates, they still need about 750 EUR to close the building and buy basic household appliances.
