When she was left as a baby in an orphanage in Sarajevo, few could predict the path S.D. would take. Illnesses and challenges followed her from the earliest days. She was diagnosed with a rare inherited disorder called "brittle bone disease," which causes skeletal fragility and breakage. Despite receiving growth hormone therapy, she remained petite. However, nothing could break her will.

After spending 13 years in the orphanage, S. was accepted by members of her family where she lived until adulthood and marriage to the love of her heart. Despite her physical challenges, after three years of marriage, she naturally gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Her husband, a construction worker, diligently provides for and cares for the family.

"She has suffered a lot in life, and I want to provide her with everything I can. As soon as I have a little free time, I come here and work. I am not used to getting anything," explained her husband, N., who works as a construction worker with his brother.

However, he reluctantly admits that they lack money to finish building their 40-square-meter house near Maglaj by summer. They need carpentry, construction materials, a shower cabin, a stove, and much more. To realize their dream, the initiative was launched by the "Second" Foundation.

"I visited them last week together with a girl from the orphanage who is also soon returning to her mother. Considering that we recently renovated and furnished an apartment for that girl to live in, she suggested that we also help her friend with whom she spent several years in the orphanage. After the visit, we decided to support this brave woman and her family," said Belma Mujezinović, director of the "Second" Foundation.

According to estimates gathered from nearby companies in Maglaj, they lack 4,000 KM to complete the building and purchase basic household appliances.
