After several months of fundraising, construction has begun on the future Rehabilitation, Recreation, and Retreat Center for children without parental care from the Bjelave Home.
The center is located in the village of Ledići on Mt. Bjelašnica, and the first phase of the project involves the installation of heating systems and internal insulation in the main house. Since the house was built in 1922 and subsequent renovations did not include insulation, this is an essential step. The house served as a school for children in the area and is now a monument to the National Liberation War.
As the facility will be operational year-round, Belma Mujezinović, the director of the Foundation "Second", has taken on the responsibility, as agreed upon in the signed agreement with the Sarajevo Home for Children Without Parental Care, to raise funds and secure donations of the highest-quality materials. The aim is to ensure that the children staying in the house are adequately warm during winter and comfortable throughout the summer.
So far, material donations have been provided by KNAUF, KNAUF INSULATION, THERMOFLUX, SENIGOR, and LUK.

I also want to thank individual donors, as well as the media that have been following the establishment of the center and giving us necessary visibility. Everyone has contributed in their own way, and many people have played a part in allowing the craftsmen to enter the facility today and begin the installation of the heating systems," stated Belma Mujezinović, director of the Foundation "Second".
The next phase of the project will involve furnishing, lighting, and fencing, which will require approximately 20,000 EUR. The goal of this project is to create a place of renewal, joy, and development for children without parental care, not only from the Bjelave Home in Sarajevo but also from other homes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the beauty of nature will be the foundation of their recovery.
