Representatives from Amal Foundation in Malaysia recently visited the future Center for the rehabilitation, recreation, and care of children without parental care in the village of Ledici on Mt. Bjelasnica. Despite operating worldwide for over 20 years, this was their first visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In search of projects to support, they reached out to the "Second" Foundation, which collaborates with the Home for Children without Parental Care in Sarajevo. They were particularly impressed by the Emotional Support Center "Cat Barn", which connects abandoned cats with orphaned children through animal-assisted therapy.

"We support projects in 42 countries around the world, but we have not seen a project like this before. It is a fantastic idea, and I believe we could implement it in Malaysia as well," said Salleh Farmin, President of Amal Foundation.

During their brief stay in Sarajevo, they managed to visit the Home for Children without Parental Care in Bjelave and the village of Ledici, where the establishment of the Center for rehabilitation, recreation, and care is planned on the estate provided to them by the proBITRA Foundation. The proBITRA Foundation donated a house, a monument to the II World War, along with an accompanying 1,200-square-meter land, for a period of 99 years.

The construction of the Center, with a special focus on the Cat Barn, is planned in the village. Children with developmental difficulties or specific traumas will have the opportunity to interact with therapy cats that have been rescued from the streets, rehabilitated, and socialized.

To demonstrate their interest and provide support, before returning to Malaysia, they donated $1,000 for the center and $200 for management. The funds were handed over to Belma Mujezinovic, the director of the Foundation "Second".

"You are doing the same work as we are. We understand the challenges of fundraising, and we want to encourage you to continue," Farmin stated, promising that this is just the beginning of their collaboration and that they will soon visit Sarajevo again.
