Foundation Second has been successfully cooperating for years with the Cantonal Public Institution Home for children without parental care Sarajevo and the Social work service, providing concrete and swift assistance to families in crisis in order to prevent the displacement of children into alternative care institutions. Thanks to the funds collected through the Donors' Club, the Foundation has the capacity to respond urgently at moments when help is most needed.

This photo features a young girl, one of two children who were returned to their single mother, and whom Foundation Second took on trips while they were in the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo. The photo was taken during a trip to Dejčići, where the children enjoyed a moment of relaxation and fun, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Often, these are seemingly small but crucial interventions that mean the difference for families between staying together and being separated again. Recently, at the request of the Home’s authorities, Foundation Second assisted a single mother whose children had just been returned from institutional care. Although she met all the conditions for their return, one of the children fell ill shortly after coming home, and the resulting medical expenses and medication costs placed an additional burden on her. At a moment when she was unable to pay a gas bill of 75 EUR, there was a real risk that the children would be left without heating in the cold days.

Thanks to the resources from the Donors' Club, Foundation Second immediately took over the payment of the bill that same day, helping the family avoid further difficulties and ensuring that the children could stay safely with their mother.

"This is just one of many examples where quick and targeted assistance makes an enormous difference. Thanks to our donors, who regularly contribute from as little as 3 EUR per month, we can respond exactly when it matters most. I invite everyone who can to join our Donors' Club and help us keep as many families together as possible," said Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second.

Foundation Second continues to provide daily support to families in crisis, firmly believing that every child deserves the right to grow up in the safety of their own home. By joining the Donors' Club, citizens have the opportunity to directly participate in projects supporting single mothers and other vulnerable groups, becoming part of positive change in the community.
