Foundation Second is pleased to inform all its friends and donors that during the blessed month of Ramadan, specifically from March 3rd to April 2nd this year, we raised 621,94 EUR for additional 60.8 square meters of land for our future project, Abu Huraira Haven. This amount adds to the previously collected 401.2 square meters, bringing the total to 462 square meters of land on our journey towards the final goal — acquiring enough space to build a haven that will be a safe and inspiring home for people from vulnerable categories of society.
Announced a little over a year ago, Abu Huraira Haven is envisioned as a comprehensive refuge that will unite inclusion, rehabilitation, education, employment, and long-term supported housing. It will offer services that have not existed in this region before. A special focus is placed on cat-assisted therapy, as well as the employment of young people leaving institutional care, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

I would especially like to thank our friends from Pomozi.ba — their support, sharing of our appeal, and sincere commitment to this project helped us collect funds for an additional 60.8 square meters of land. Every step brings us closer to the goal of providing lasting kindness and a safe environment for those who need it most,” said Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second.
Foundation Second is still actively seeking suitable land on the outskirts of Sarajevo that would fully meet the needs of this unique project, at a price of 10 EUR per square meter. The project is designed to become self-sustainable within a year of construction, with the architectural concept created by architect Merima Delić, in line with the vision of the foundation’s founder.
