The residents of the Home for Children without Parental Care in Sarajevo have recently been granted a weekend house and accompanying land in the village of Ledići on Bjelašnica, for a period of 99 years.

According to the signed agreement, the "Second" Foundation has taken on the responsibility of seeking donors to furnish and make the house functional. Among the prioritized items on the list were kitchen appliances, prompting the director of the Foundation, Belma Mujezinović, to make an appeal on her Facebook profile.

Vedad Deljković, a council member of the City of Sarajevo, read the appeal and initiated action. Mayor Benjamina Karić contacted the owners of the companies "Braća mućke" and "Only fools and horses" from Hadžići, asking their donation of the necessary kitchen appliances to make the kitchen operational.

"Do you remember the brothers Tarik and Mirnes Fatić, and their colleague Medaris Šunj from Hadžići, who decided to equip one house with appliances every day during Ramadan? They asked me what they could do for the City of Sarajevo, and I suggested that they furnish the weekend house that will be used by children without parental care from the Bjelave Home for excursions, winter and summer vacations. The house is a national monument located in Ledići, on Bjelašnica, and in order to put it into use, it was necessary to equip the kitchen.

After just ten days, they had chosen and donated the best appliances for the children. On behalf of the City of Sarajevo and all our fellow citizens, thank you for your kindness and a heart as big as a mountain." - Benjamina Karić, the Major of Sarajevo, stated.

The kitchen is now complete with a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, and hood worth 1.426,00 EUR

Thanks to this donation, the children are one step closer to realizing the idea of spending their free time in the house, together with their caretakers, during summer and winter activities, organized outings, and animal-assisted therapy.

The Home for Children without Parental Care provides comprehensive care, upbringing, education, and healthcare services to children without parental care and children whose development is hindered by family circumstances. Currently, there are 80 children of different ages accommodated in the Home across five units, with over 40 of them attending regular or special primary and secondary schools.

If you wish to participate in furnishing the house, you can do so by making a donation marked "For Ledici," or by providing the materials and equipment necessary to make the building functional.
