Although Ramadan has passed, its light still shines through stories worth sharing. One such story is the iftar held at the iconic Sarajevo restaurant Inat Kuća (Spite House) near the end of the holy month, where 15 children without parental care from Bjelave Home, accompanied by their caregivers, were warmly welcomed.
Far from the familiar walls of their institution, the little ones delighted in the traditional ambiance, carefully prepared local dishes, and the heartfelt attention of the restaurant staff. It was an evening filled with smiles, childlike wonder, and a sense of belonging.
The initiative for organizing this iftar came from Hana Ademaj from Sweden, who joined the circle of Foundation Second’s volunteers and donors this Ramadan. Although new to the Foundation, Hana has already shown remarkable compassion and dedication to children without parental care.
This iftar was just one of many — as Foundation Second, for the fourth consecutive year, organized a series of Ramadan iftars for children from the Bjelave Home and others in need. Each gathering was thoughtfully arranged to give the children a chance to experience the spirit of Ramadan in a warm, human-centered setting.
Foundation Second extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Inat Kuća for their generous hospitality, and to Hana for her trust and support. While Ramadan may be over, evenings like this one remain in memory — a lasting reminder that kindness, togetherness, and care are the greatest gifts we can offer to children.
