Thanks to the hospitality of the Ahmetspahić family, the children from the Small family home in Blagovac, which operates as part of the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo, had the opportunity for the first time to experience iftar in a real family home, surrounded by care and the warmth of a welcoming atmosphere. Wishing to provide them with a new experience and a sense of family gathering, the hosts welcomed the children with special attention and love, preparing a rich table full of traditional Bosnian dishes.
Seven children, most of whom were fasting, enjoyed the warmth of the home, the aroma of homemade food, and the affection dedicated to them. At the iftar table, they felt the spirit of family togetherness, experiencing moments filled with love and care.
This special event was also attended by the Director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, and the Director of the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo, Muhamed Musić, who expressed their gratitude to the Ahmetspahić family for their wonderful gesture.
"This is not just an iftar; it is a message of love and support for these children. We sincerely thank the Ahmetspahić family for opening their home and hearts to them," said Belma Mujezinović.
After the iftar, the Director of Foundation Second, together with a boy sponsored by the foundation—a boy who eagerly awaits Ramadan every year, fasts from the very first day, and looks forward to attending tarawih prayers—went to the Central Mosque in Vogošća, accompanied by Dina Ahmetspahić, who helped prepare the iftar with her mother. This special tradition has become a cherished ritual for the boy, and every year, the Director of Foundation Second takes him to tarawih prayers, offering him support and sharing in the joy of Ramadan nights.
Moments like these highlight the importance of a warm home and a sense of belonging for every child. Foundation Second will continue to support such initiatives, believing that the community can do much for children growing up without parental care.
