Foundation Second has provided prayer dresses for two girls from the Small Family Home in Marindvor, who attend Islamic school, allowing them to learn about their faith with pride and dignity while fostering a sense of belonging to their community.
The girls, along with their brother, have been scholarship recipients of Foundation Second since last year. Although the Home for children without parental care covers their basic needs, these scholarships offer additional support, enabling them to participate in extracurricular activities, further their education, and meet other needs that contribute to their development and independence.
Small family homes – Creating a family stmosphere
The home for children without parental care in Sarajevo currently operates four small family homes, serving as an alternative to traditional institutions. These homes provide children with a more intimate and nurturing environment, where caregivers work to create a sense of home and belonging. This model allows for more individualized attention and better conditions for emotional and social development.
The importance of scholarships for children
Education is key to a brighter future for children without parental care. Scholarships enable them to engage in extracurricular activities and realize their potential. Supporting these children goes beyond financial aid—it provides them with security and care, helping them overcome challenges more easily.
"Every child deserves a happy childhood and access to quality education. We thank all donors who recognize the importance of this mission and invite others to join us in supporting children who deserve a better future," emphasized Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second.
Foundation Second continues its mission to support the most vulnerable children, and all interested donors are welcome to join this initiative and make a difference in the lives of those who need our care and attention.
