On the initiative of Foundation Second, an iftar was organized at the restaurant Prava priča for children from the Small family home in Sokolović Kolonija. This marks the third consecutive Ramadan that this restaurant warmly welcomes its special guests, allowing them to experience the warmth of togetherness and the beauty of Ramadan evenings.
This year, 14 children, accompanied by their caregivers, enjoyed carefully prepared iftar meals. The joy of companionship and closeness was evident in every smile and glance, as the children cherished not only the delicious food but also the special moments shared. However, they had to conclude their iftar a bit earlier to attend tarawih prayers, an occasion they eagerly anticipated. The excitement was especially visible among the girls, who received new dresses for the mosque from Foundation Second, making their joy even more complete.
Small family homes are a form of alternative care within the system of the Home for children without parental care Sarajevo. These homes provide children with an upbringing in smaller, family-like environments, where they receive the support of caregivers, fostering a sense of belonging and stability. Their significance lies in offering the warmth of a home, emotional support, and an individualized approach to each child, helping them integrate more easily into society and grow into independent young individuals.
"For three years, the restaurant 'Prava priča' has demonstrated remarkable social responsibility and generosity, giving children the opportunity to experience the joy of Ramadan in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This gesture has become a recognized symbol of community and humanity, setting an example of how local businesses can support those who need it most," said Belma Mujezinović, director of Foundation Second.
Foundation Second continues its mission of supporting children without parental care, creating opportunities for cherished memories and moments that mean much more than just an iftar – they represent a sense of belonging and love.
