Just before the end of the month of Ramadan, in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, a joint iftar was organized for the children and staff of the Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo, as well as for children from small family homes in Sokolović Kolonija, Blagovac, Marijin Dvor, and Kovačići.

Although the days of Ramadan were passing quickly, filled with numerous activities, gatherings, and acts of worship, some stories simply didn’t get the chance to be told in time. This is one of them – quiet, yet important.

This iftar once again confirmed how meaningful such gatherings are – not just as a shared meal, but as a space of belonging, care, and closeness. In one evening, different homes were brought together, united by a sense of togetherness that is built and nurtured over the years.

The iftar was also attended this year, with great pleasure, by the Director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović.

"It is always special to be with the children, to feel their energy, joy, and sincerity. Moments like these remind us how important it is to be there – present, engaged, and building lasting memories together with them. For me, these evenings are truly priceless," said Belma Mujezinović.

After the iftar, the evening didn’t end. The girls who had spent that weekend in the Small Family Home in Ledići, together with the director, wished to continue the Ramadan atmosphere by going to taraweeh prayer.

They got ready almost an hour earlier – with special care, excitement, and joy. They arrived at the mosque in Bjelave ahead of time, making the most of every moment of the evening.

While the director used the time for worship and reading the Qur’an, the girls, in the way only children can, filled the space with play and laughter. In that simplicity and freedom, the mosque became a place of their joy as well.

Later, they performed the prayer together.

And even then, they didn’t feel like going back right away.

Instead, they stayed a little longer – sitting on a bench in front of the mosque, in the quiet of the Ramadan night, enjoying a moment they didn’t want to end.

Because some stories don’t get told when they happen –
but remain valuable enough to be shared later.
