During the month of Ramadan, a time when togetherness and care for others take on a special meaning, another iftar was organized for children without parental care – this time in the beautiful setting of Swissotel in Sarajevo. This 5-star hotel joined the large family of hospitality venues that have been organizing iftars for children in alternative care for the fifth consecutive year.

Around 40 children, together with their caregivers, attended an evening that was much more than just a shared meal.
The warmth of the welcome, carefully prepared details, and an atmosphere that gave the children a sense of importance and belonging made this evening truly special. For many of them, it was an opportunity to experience something new, but also to feel how valued and important they are.
At the invitation of the Home, the iftar was also attended by the director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, who, after the shared meal, took two children from the Small Family Home in Marijin Dvor to taraweeh prayer.

They were a 16-year-old boy with developmental difficulties, who strives to perform every prayer regularly, and a seven-year-old girl, who joyfully takes every opportunity to visit the mosque. Their desire to be part of that spiritual atmosphere was stronger than fatigue, giving the evening an even deeper meaning for them.
Moments like these remind us that Ramadan is not only a time of fasting, but also a time of closeness, care, and support – especially for those who need it most.
Because sometimes, behind a single evening, there are memories and emotions that last much longer.
