Some evenings don’t end with the day – they remain written in the feeling of warmth, care, and togetherness they brought.

This year, that special story was joined by the restaurant The Four Rooms of Mrs. Safija, which organized an iftar for children without parental care from the Cantonal Public Institution Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo (Bjelave Orphanage). In doing so, they became part of a large family of Sarajevo hospitality venues that have been opening their doors to children for five years, offering them evenings filled with care and dignity.
An evening to remember
In the warm and thoughtfully designed setting of the restaurant, the children had the opportunity to spend an evening different from their everyday life – with a specially prepared iftar, welcoming smiles from the hosts, and a genuine sense of belonging.
Moments like these are not just about sharing a meal. They are an opportunity for children to feel included, seen, and valued, and to forget, even briefly, the challenges they face.
What gives these evenings special value is the sincere willingness of people to share what they have – their time, space, and attention.
A growing tradition of kindness
For the fifth year in a row, an increasing number of restaurants and hospitality venues in Sarajevo have recognized the importance of such initiatives. Through a simple yet powerful act – organizing iftars for children without parental care – a network of support is being built that goes beyond individual gestures.
This year, the restaurant The Four Rooms of Mrs. Safija joined that story, confirming that a community truly exists where people choose to care for one another.
Because sometimes, it only takes a little – one evening, one meal, and genuine care – to create memories that last far beyond the moment.
