The warmth that togetherness brings is most beautifully reflected in small but meaningful steps — the ones that make a real difference in the daily lives of children growing up without parental care. One such moment happened last week at the Bjelave Home.

After new cribs and cabinets had already been provided and delivered earlier, the remaining — and equally important — piece of equipment has now arrived: mattresses for 25 babies in Ward 1, where children from birth to the age of three reside.

This phase of the project was made possible thanks to the support of numerous individuals and friends from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, among whom the organization Stichting Amanet from the Netherlands stands out for their generous contribution that gave this story additional strength.

The director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, reflected on the importance of this delivery:

“Mattresses are the foundation of safe and healthy sleep. Thanks to the people who recognized the importance of this project, the youngest residents of the Bjelave Home will soon have completely new cribs equipped with comfortable and safe mattresses. Thank you to everyone who helped — you’ve shown just how powerful unity can be.”

From the initial appeal launched during the blessed month of Ramadan to the delivery of each individual mattress — every step has been filled with care, responsibility, and love for those just beginning their life journey.

We thank everyone who contributed: from those who called 17077, to those who transferred donations to the foundation’s account, and all who helped spread the word by sharing the appeal.

👉 To fully complete this story, we still need to provide pillows, duvets, waterproof sheets, and bedding for all the babies. The total amount still needed is 1,150 KM (588 EUR).

Thanks to you, 25 little ones are already sleeping more safely and comfortably — and with these final details, their space will become even warmer, softer, and gentler — just as they deserve.
