Thanks to the support of kind-hearted individuals, Foundation Second has once again managed to cover rent this month for a widow and single mother of five young children. Additionally, with the help of donors, an outstanding electricity bill in the amount of 144 BAM (73,60 EUR) has been paid, allowing the family to remain in safe and stable conditions for a little while longer.
However, by the end of the month, this family will lose their current accommodation. Despite continuous efforts, a new housing solution has not yet been found. A major obstacle remains the reluctance of many landlords to rent to a mother with several children, regardless of the guarantees for regular payments.
“This family has been part of our program for some time. The mother is doing her best to provide a stable environment for her children, and we are grateful to all our partners and donors who have supported them so far. We hope the family will continue to receive support to overcome this sensitive situation,” said Amina Pohara, Head of the Family and child support service at the Cantonal public institution Home for children without parental care Sarajevo.
Foundation Second remains committed to finding a long-term solution in cooperation with partners, institutions, and all people of goodwill.
