The Director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, visited the Educational Center of Sarajevo Canton, where she met with Midhat Kerla, the Center’s Director, and Elmedin Zuko, Head of the Department for the care of children in need. The purpose of the meeting was to establish cooperation and plan joint activities aimed at supporting young people in their process of integration into society.

The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, with a special emphasis on the importance of collaboration between institutions and non-governmental organizations, particularly in providing professional, social, and financial support to young people leaving the institutional care system. They discussed the possibilities of joint programs that would offer youth opportunities for resocialization, education, and personal development through the Foundation’s activities and the Center’s professional teams.

“Our mission is not only to help in the moment but to create long-term changes that enable young people to build a stable identity, trust in themselves and society, and to become equal and productive members of the community. In the work of the Educational Center, we recognized a commitment to precisely these values, and we are pleased to open the doors to future cooperation,” said Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second.

The Educational Center of Sarajevo Canton operates through four departments – the Department for resocialization, Department for diagnostics and observation, Department for the care of children in need, and Department for preventive work – and bases its work on an interdisciplinary model of early intervention and the development of positive psychological dispositions in children.

Their mission is to build a support system that provides every child with equal opportunities for socialization and the formation of a mature, stable personality, while their vision is to create an environment in which children in need are accepted and guided toward becoming functional members of society.

The visit by Director Mujezinović marks the beginning of joint efforts between Foundation Second and the Educational Center of Sarajevo Canton to strengthen the network of support for young people facing integration challenges, with the goal of providing them with a new chance for a dignified, independent, and meaningful life within the community.
