The Federal ministry of labour and social policy has this year as well continued its practice of strengthening social services in non-institutional care through significant allocations from the Federation of BiH budget. Nearly 2 million BAM has been directed to more than 40 organizations and institutions that provide daily support to the most vulnerable citizens.
Among the selected organizations that have earned the trust and support of the Ministry is Foundation Second, with the allocated funds directed to the work and development of the Small family home in Ledići, which the Sarajevo Home for children without parental care received for use from the proBITRA Foundation for a period of 99 years.
Foundation Second has signed a cooperation agreement with the Sarajevo Home, under which the house in Ledići was insulated and equipped through the Foundation’s donations, transforming it into a functional and warm space for children’s stay. In the Small family home, the Foundation continuously organizes activities for children without parental care and children from at-risk families – ranging from educational and creative workshops to sports and recreational programs.
“This support is invaluable to us, as it confirms that institutions recognize the importance of our work and projects aimed at children without parental care. The funds will be directly invested in strengthening and equipping the Small Family Home in Ledići, which is becoming a safe haven and a place where children feel a sense of belonging, attention, and warmth. We are grateful to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for once again recognizing the importance of Foundation Second within the social protection network,” said Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second.
Minister Adnan Delić, during the contract signing, emphasized that through this transfer the state invests not only financial support but also in the dignity, equality, and opportunities of citizens, noting that such projects are key to preventing the institutionalization of the most vulnerable.
The support of the Federal Ministry will enable Foundation Second to continue with its planned activities and strengthen the capacities of the Small family home in Ledići, particularly in projects of children’s stays, educational and recreational programs, and inclusive activities that bring together children, youth, and the wider community.
