Ahead of Eid al-Adha, Foundation Second brought joy to two families at risk of separation who are included in the Family and Child Protection and Support Program implemented by the Family and Child Support Service of the Public Institution Home for Children Without Parental Care Sarajevo.

A food package worth approximately 100 EUR was prepared for each family, with the contents tailored to their actual needs. The packages were delivered directly to the families' homes so that, ahead of Eid, they could have what matters most – the security of knowing there would be enough food on the table for the entire family.
One of the families receiving assistance is a single mother raising two children on her own. Her daughter, now a teenager, was born without half of one arm and several fingers on the other hand. Despite the challenges she has faced since birth, she demonstrates every day through her exceptional talent for drawing, positive spirit, and determination that physical limitations do not define a person's potential. Her artwork reflects creativity, strength of character, and a desire to pursue her dreams. At the same time, the mother cares for her younger son, who is on the autism spectrum, making the family's daily responsibilities and challenges even greater. Nevertheless, their love, mutual support, and determination to build a dignified life remain an inspiration to everyone who meets them.

The second family has six children and faces numerous life challenges. Through the family support program, efforts are being made to provide assistance that will help the children remain in their family environment and have the opportunity to grow up in a safe and dignified setting.
Amina Pohara, Head of the Family and Child Support Service at the Home for Children Without Parental Care Sarajevo, emphasized the importance of this type of support.
"Families included in our program fight difficult battles every day to provide basic living conditions for their children. Sometimes a food package means much more than food – it represents support, security, and the knowledge that they are not alone. We are grateful to Foundation Second and all of its donors who recognize the importance of preserving families and providing support when it is needed most," said Pohara.

Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second, emphasized that the foundation's goal is to provide practical support to families facing difficult life circumstances.
"Eid is a time of joy, togetherness, and caring for others. We wanted these two families to feel that they have not been forgotten and that, before the holiday, at least part of the burden they carry would be eased. We paid special attention to ensuring that the packages reflected their actual needs, because every family faces unique challenges. Our mission is not only to provide one-time assistance but to be a long-term source of support, helping children grow up with their parents in a safe and stable environment," said Mujezinović.
Foundation Second has announced that it will continue to support families at risk in the future, believing that preserving families is one of the most important steps in protecting children and preventing their separation from their family environment.
Thanks to the donors of Foundation Second, this Eid will bring greater peace, security, and joy to these two families.
