As we enter the most blessed days of the year, the days of Dhul Hijjah, Foundation Second is launching a support campaign for five vulnerable families included in the family and children support program of the Public Institution Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo.

For Muslims, these days represent an opportunity for good deeds, helping others, and drawing closer to Allah through solidarity, sadaqah, and care for those living in difficult circumstances.

Many of the families supported by Foundation Second face poverty, unemployment, illness, and unstable living conditions. Among them are single mothers, large families, and children who have lost one or both parents. Thanks to the support of the community, these families are able to stay together and avoid the separation of children from their families and institutional care.

That is why, during the first days of Dhul Hijjah, we aim to provide five food packages worth 100 EUR each.

The packages will include essential food supplies such as flour, oil, rice, pasta, dairy products, canned food, fresh fruits and vegetables, halal meat, sweets for children, and, when needed, baby food or other specific products that families currently cannot afford on their own.

The total goal of the campaign is 500 EUR.

At a time when the prices of food and basic necessities continue to rise, even the smallest help can mean a lot. For some, one package means that children will have meals, that a mother will worry a little less about surviving the month, or that a family will simply feel they are not alone.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days.”
