The director Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, spent a truly special afternoon with two sisters who live in the Small family home in Marijin Dvor, which operates as part of the Cantonal public institution Home for children without parental care Sarajevo.

The day began with an important step for the older girl — receiving a pair of eyeglasses generously donated by Optika Baroš, following a specialist ophthalmology examination.

After picking up the glasses, they went to the nearby Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, where they performed the asr prayer together. The quiet of the courtyard, the shade of the old tree, and the serenity of its harem brought peace and dignity to a moment that will undoubtedly remain in their memories.

They then stopped by the famous Imaret bakery, just a few steps away, and chose a variety of fresh pastries, planning to enjoy them at a peaceful spot overlooking the city.
Their walk took them to Žuta Tabija, one of Sarajevo’s most beautiful viewpoints, where they decided to wait for the maghrib prayer — as the girls wished to stay “until dark.” As the day slowly faded and the lights dimmed over the city, they found a quiet place near a group of cats lounging carefree among the old stone walls.
“Cats!” exclaimed the younger one, who is especially fond of them.

Instead of enjoying the pastries they had bought, the girls instinctively separated everything the cats could eat and gently fed them with warmth and care. In that quiet act of kindness and tenderness, surrounded by the grateful eyes of the small creatures, the younger sister softly said:
“This is the best day of my life.”
It was a moment that transcended plans and routines — a reminder that true joy lies not in what we receive, but in what we give.
