A food package worth 100 EUR, consisting of groceries chosen by the family themselves, has recently found its way to the returnee village of Mašići in Republika Srpska. Sometimes, it is precisely this kind of carefully prepared support that means the most – because it brings not only basic necessities, but also the feeling that someone is thinking of you.

It is about a five-member family in which one child has developmental difficulties and is a member of the Association for Persons with Special Needs of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, with whom Foundation Second has had a signed cooperation agreement since the very beginning of its work – for a full five years.

This family is not unfamiliar with Foundation Second. On the contrary, over the past years, support has come in different forms whenever circumstances and available donations allowed. It is precisely this continuity of care and attention that makes a difference – showing that help is not one-time, but lasting and sincere.

A special part of this story is Damir, a sixteen-year-old boy who loves animals very much. He recently lost his cat Cicko, who had been part of the family for nearly ten years. This loss affected him deeply, but joy returned with the arrival of a new kitten. That is why, among the groceries the family selected, there was also food for his pet.

Damir is used to the director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, always thinking about his small but important wishes – so along with support for the family, a special package for the cat often arrives as well. This time, although she was not able to visit the family in person, that attention was not missing.

Thanks to the president of the Association, Emira Hodžić, the package arrived on time – just before Eid, bringing with it joy, relief, and the feeling that they have not been forgotten.

Because sometimes, a little is enough – carefully chosen groceries, understanding, and continuity of support – to brighten someone’s day and restore faith in the goodness of people.
