Although the days of Ramadan are behind us, the stories born in its spirit continue to live on – through the emotions, encounters, and gratitude they carry. One such story comes from the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, where Foundation Second organized an iftar for 29 members of the Association for People with Special Needs.

This iftar was not just a shared meal, but an evening filled with warmth, care, and a sense of belonging. Organized in the restaurant within the Islamic Center Goražde, a space that brings the community together through its atmosphere and mission, it provided a dignified and pleasant setting for all attendees.

The total value of the iftar was 660 BAM (330 EUR), and thanks to the support of Foundation Second’s donors, this evening was carried out with special attention given to every guest.

An evening of care and sincere friendship

For the members of the Association, gatherings like this hold special meaning. They are not just moments of socializing, but a reminder that they are not forgotten and that there are people who truly care and take action.

The President of the Association, Emira Hodžić, shared heartfelt words of gratitude:

"Thanks to Allah for another beautiful iftar and gathering, and to our dear Belma Mujezinović, director of Foundation Second, who gives her all to make us happy and is always there whenever we need any kind of help. A great reward from Allah is to have someone as a sincere friend, just as we have our Belma. Thanks to the staff of the Islamic Center for their kindness, hospitality, and to all the wonderful people who supported us during these Ramadan days. May Allah reward you for all your good deeds. Amin."

These words perhaps best reflect the essence of Foundation Second’s work – to be present, to offer support, and to build lasting relationships.

More than an iftar

With this iftar, Foundation Second once again confirms its commitment to inclusion and support for vulnerable groups in society. Through such activities, not only is a sense of community built, but also bridges of understanding, acceptance, and mutual respect.

At a time when attention is often the most valuable gift, gatherings like this remind us how little it takes to brighten someone’s day – and how much it truly means.
