After a two-year pause, the Director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, together with Emira Hodžić, President of the Association for people with special needs of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, visited six families in the villages of Eastern Bosnia – out of a total of 38 families that this Association gathers and supports.

A car full of food and hygiene parcels reached families in Bogušići, Živojevići, Kopači, as well as Goražde itself, thanks to the donation of the Dutch humanitarian organization Stichting Amanet.

In addition to essential supplies, children also received special gifts – backpacks and clothing, tailored to their wishes and needs.

The hosts welcomed the guests in the warmest way – with pita baked under the sač, roasted peppers, smiles, and words of welcome. Under the autumn sun, conversations unfolded about life and its challenges, and the visit was enriched with joint prayers – the noon prayer in the mosque in Bogušići and the afternoon prayer in the Kajserija Mosque in Goražde. The families who received assistance expressed not only gratitude, but also their readiness, even in modest conditions, to give back – with produce from their gardens, jars of pickles, jam, and eggs. Once again, they showed that true wealth lies in giving and mutual support.

Especially moving were the encounters with family members facing challenges of disability and illness, yet showing extraordinary perseverance and love. Their stories testify to the strength of parents and the special emotional warmth of their children, who radiate generosity even in the most difficult circumstances.

Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second, emphasized that such visits remind us of the true value of togetherness:

"They may live in modest conditions, but they are rich in gratitude and selflessness. Every encounter with them is a reminder that the joy of giving and the joy of meeting always find their way."

At the end of the visit, a new initiative was agreed upon – to organize a trip to Ledići, including an overnight stay and a tour of Sarajevo, for members of the Association from Eastern Bosnia who are able to travel. Both children and parents welcomed this idea with great enthusiasm, asking only one question: “When?”

Foundation Second extends its gratitude to Stichting Amanet for this valuable donation, as well as to all friends and partners who help ensure that aid and joy reach those who need it most.
