Just two weeks ago, seeds were carefully placed into the soil, and today the first green shoots are already emerging above the surface, announcing life, growth, and the harvests yet to come.

This spring, we took the first steps towards creating a vegetable garden in Ledići, a place that gives children without parental care an opportunity to spend time in nature, learn new skills, and create memories far from the noise and rush of the city.

Today, we are delighted to share the first results. Spinach, lettuce, Swiss chard, radishes, carrots, and onions have already sprouted, and every new leaf is a reminder that effort, patience, and teamwork always pay off.

For us, this garden is not just a place where vegetables are grown. It is also an outdoor classroom. Children who visit Ledići have the opportunity to see how a plant grows from a tiny seed, how much care is needed for something to thrive, and why it is important to respect nature and its rhythm.

We are especially grateful to our neighbours in Ledići, who generously share their knowledge and experience. With their help, the soil was prepared, potatoes were planted, onions were sown, and various vegetables were added to the garden. In the months ahead, there will be much more work to do, but also many more reasons to celebrate.

We are soon planning to plant tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, green beans, and other crops that will further enrich our small mountain garden. We hope that by this summer, the children will be able to harvest the first fruits of their own work and experience the special satisfaction that comes from growing food.

Just as spinach, lettuce, carrots, and Swiss chard are growing, so too are friendships, self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and a love for nature in Ledići. That is why this garden means so much more to us than a few rows of vegetables.

It is another step towards creating a home where children can learn, grow, and rediscover the beauty of simple things that are often forgotten today.

And this is only the beginning. 🌱❤️
