In anticipation of a special arrival – children from the Home for Children without Parental Care Tuzla, who are coming to the Small Family Home in Ledići for the first time – Foundation Second and the Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo jointly organized and financed a series of works to ensure the space is fully prepared for their stay.

This arrival carries a special symbolism. For the first time, children from the Tuzla Canton are coming to a place that has been developed over the years with the idea of being a space of safety, rest, and belonging. That is why every preparation was guided by attention to detail.

Shared effort and responsibility

Through a partnership-based collaboration, Foundation Second and the Sarajevo Home secured the funds and organized both interior and exterior improvement works. In recent days, minor repairs were carried out, new laminate flooring was installed in parts of the house, and the walls were refreshed with paint, restoring warmth and freshness to the space.

Additional value to this process was brought by a family included in the Family and Child Support Service program of the Sarajevo Home. Their engagement went far beyond assistance – together, they arranged and thoroughly cleaned both the indoor and outdoor areas, working side by side with the Home’s maintenance staff. In this way, the space gained an added dimension of togetherness and mutual support.

Easier access and a safer arrival

One of the key segments of the preparations was access to the house. The road, which had previously been unpaved, has now been repaired and further improved, enabling easier and safer access, especially in poor weather conditions. This change will significantly facilitate the arrival of children, as well as all future activities organized in Ledići.

Everything achieved is the result of joint effort – planned, collaborative, and guided by a clear goal: that children, regardless of where they come from, feel welcomed with care in Ledići.

Because sometimes it is precisely these preparations, happening behind the scenes, that carry the greatest care – creating a space where new encounters turn into lasting memories.
