Although the days of Ramadan are behind us, the memories created in its spirit stay with us for a long time. Below, we share a photo gallery from the final weekend spent in Ledići – as a reminder of a time filled with joy, closeness, play, and the warmth of togetherness.

This year, through four Ramadan weekends, we had the opportunity to host girls from the children’s home and create special moments together that go beyond everyday life. Each weekend carried its own story, but also the same feeling – that we belong to one another, even if only for a short time.

What gives these weekends special value is the fact that the director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, spent all four weekends together with the girls, building a relationship of trust, closeness, and security.

Each weekend was carefully designed especially for them – to respond to their needs, wishes, and what children often lack the most: a sense of attention, choice, and belonging.

The final weekend was special in its own way. Our dear volunteer Hana Ademaj joined us once again, returning from Sweden to spend time with the children, bringing additional warmth and care into every moment.

The gathering began in a way children love most – with a shared shopping trip. With smiles and excitement, the girls chose what they wanted to eat, thoughtfully deciding, discussing, and enjoying every choice. For them, these small choices mean so much more – a feeling that they matter and that their voice is heard.

Five girls, aged 6 to 8, spent the weekend in nature, filled with Ramadan activities, play, and carefree moments. Special joy came from time spent with cats and dogs, through which they learned tenderness, care, and connection.

The weekend was enriched with visits to mosques in Dejčići and Ostojići, where the girls had the opportunity to feel the beauty of shared prayer and the spirit of Ramadan outside their everyday environment.

At Foundation Second, we believe that these are the moments that remain – not only as memories, but as a sense of safety, acceptance, and love.

And so, as we share these photos, we hope they convey at least a glimpse of what we experienced together.
