Before heading to a Ramadan weekend at the Small Family Home in Ledići, Foundation Second organized a short but highly engaging activity for four girls from the Sarajevo Children’s Home without Parental Care – a joint shopping trip for fruit and sweets they would take with them.

The girls chose the fruit they wanted to bring to Ledići themselves, carefully weighed it and placed price stickers on the bags. This part – weighing and printing the price labels – was especially interesting to them, so they took part in every step of the process with great attention and excitement.
After selecting the fruit, each of them had the opportunity to choose one sweet or snack to take along and share during their stay at the Small Family Home. Through this simple activity, the girls learned about decision-making, responsibility and independence, while also developing a sense of togetherness and preparing for a shared stay outside their everyday environment.
Stays in Ledići are not only a time to rest in nature, but also an opportunity for children to acquire skills through everyday tasks and small life situations that will benefit them in the future.
