Thirty years have passed since the genocide in Srebrenica. Thirty years since more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys were killed in what was then a United Nations "safe zone." Thirty years since the world stayed silent — and allowed the crime to happen.

Today, at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center, numerous citizens, survivors, families of the victims, and participants in commemorative marches are attending the ceremony marking the 30th anniversary. A funeral prayer (janazah-namaz) will be performed, followed by the burial of the remains of seven victims, discovered in mass graves as incomplete bones scattered across the forests and pits of Eastern Bosnia.
Since the early morning hours, all the roads from the Drina Valley lead to the field of white tombstones. Among those present are thousands of participants in the Peace March, who have walked in silence and dignity along the path of death to reach the graves and offer prayers for the victims.
In this silence of sorrow, Foundation Second joins in remembrance — but also in reminding the world that Srebrenica is not only a tragedy of the past, but a warning for the present.
“Thirty years have passed, but the pain has not faded. Today we pray for the martyrs of Srebrenica, but we also turn our eyes to Gaza — where innocent people are dying before the eyes of the world. We have learned that silence kills. Let our prayer today be remembrance, resistance, and a promise: that we will never be silent again. Not anywhere. Not in the face of anyone’s crime.”

On this blessed Friday, Foundation Second will not share any other content. This message is our prayer. Our remembrance. Our silent cry against forgetfulness.
🕯️ Srebrenica 1995 – Gaza 2025. We will never forget. No one. Nowhere.
