Foundation Second is once again among the organizations awarded funding by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy through the programme "Current Transfer to Non-Profit Organizations – Support for Community-Based Care and Protection Services".

This is the third consecutive year that Foundation Second has received support through this programme, which represents an important contribution to the development of the Small Family Home in Ledići – a unique initiative implemented by the Foundation in partnership with the Home for Children Without Parental Care Sarajevo.
The Small Family Home is located in the restored building of the former school in Ledići, which today is protected as a National Liberation War memorial and holds significant historical value. Thanks to the trust of numerous donors, friends of the Foundation, and socially responsible companies, this valuable building has been jointly equipped, thermally renovated, and adapted to meet the needs of children, creating a safe environment for rehabilitation, learning, recreation, and healthy development.
The support provided by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy contributes to the development of community-based care services, enabling children to spend time in an environment that closely resembles a family home, develop essential life skills, enjoy nature, and gain experiences that will benefit them throughout their lives.
At the very moment this news is being published, the Small Family Home in Ledići is once again filled with children's laughter. A new group of children without parental care is spending several days here, tending the garden, harvesting vegetables, walking along mountain trails, socializing, learning, and creating memories they will carry with them long after returning to their homes.
Foundation Second Director Belma Mujezinović believes this is the greatest value of the programme.
"For the third consecutive year, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has recognized the value of our work and entrusted us with continuing to develop programmes for children without parental care. For us, this is far more than financial support – it is confirmation that together we are building a system in which children have the opportunity to grow up in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment.
The Small Family Home in Ledići became a reality thanks to the shared vision of our donors, partners, and friends who believed this place could become a space for new beginnings for children. Today, when we see children's smiles, their teamwork in the garden, their play, learning, and the sense of belonging they experience here, we know that every contribution has truly made a difference. We are sincerely grateful to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for recognizing the importance of this project and supporting its continued development for the third consecutive year."
Foundation Second also extends its gratitude to the Home for Children Without Parental Care Sarajevo, as well as to all donors, partners, companies, volunteers, and friends of the Foundation whose support has helped transform the Small Family Home in Ledići into a place where children find safety, peace, belonging, and an opportunity for a healthier and happier childhood.
Together, we will continue building an environment where every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, develop their full potential, and know that they are never alone.
