Recently, Foundation Second has been receiving a large number of inquiries from citizens on a daily basis through social media and e-mail, requesting different forms of assistance. We are aware of the difficult situations many families are facing, and none of these requests leave us indifferent.
However, it is important to clearly and responsibly explain the way the Foundation operates.
Foundation Second provides support exclusively through institutionally recognized and professionally verified cases, in cooperation with competent institutions that monitor the situation of families and children, assess their needs, and provide recommendations for action.
Our key partners are:
- The Sarajevo Canton Social Welfare Center
- The Cantonal Public Institution Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo, especially the Family and Child Support Service
- The Educational Center of Sarajevo Canton
- Homes for children without parental care in Tuzla, Mostar, and Zenica
- The Association for Persons with Special Needs of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton
This approach allows us to ensure that assistance is fairly directed, professionally grounded, and sustainable in the long term, especially when it comes to protecting children and preserving families. In this way, we ensure that support reaches those who need it most, while also being part of a broader system of care and protection.
Unfortunately, Foundation Second does not have the capacity nor unrestricted funds that would allow us to respond to all individual requests sent directly to us. Most of our funds are earmarked and tied to specific programs, projects, and beneficiaries included through the above-mentioned institutions.
For this reason, we are not able to provide assistance based on individual requests that have not gone through the assessment system of the competent services.
If, in the future, we become able to expand our activities and provide support beyond the existing framework, we will inform the public in a timely and transparent manner through our official channels.
