Director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, attended this year’s annual conference organized by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, held in Sarajevo under the title “The New Face of Social Protection in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The conference, organized in cooperation with UNICEF and UNDP, brought together key stakeholders in social protection, with the aim of presenting reform results and defining future directions for the development of this sector.

Of particular importance for Foundation Second is the fact that this Ministry has been supporting the Small Family Home in Ledići for the past two years through a current transfer for deinstitutional forms of care and protection. This support has enabled activities for children without parental care, children with developmental difficulties, and children at risk, providing them with a safe and supportive environment outside institutional settings.

"For us, attending this conference is of multiple importance – not only because of the exchange of experiences and insights into reform processes, but also as confirmation that the direction we are working in, through deinstitutional forms of care, is recognized as important at the system level. The Ministry’s support for the Small Family Home in Ledići is a concrete example of how strategic policies can be translated into real changes in the lives of children," said director Belma Mujezinović.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the conference presented the results of a three-year reform cycle, including significant investments, digitalization, and system improvements. Federal Minister Adnan Delić highlighted projects worth 13.5 million KM and a budget of 712 million KM.

As one of the key steps forward, the introduction of a universal child allowance was announced, alongside the importance of digital solutions and improved access to rights.

Representatives of international partners emphasized that investing in children is an investment in the future of society.

Fondacija Second’s participation confirms its active role in improving the social protection system and the importance of cooperation between institutions and civil society.
