Recently, the Director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, together with the mobile team of the Family and Child Support Service of the Cantonal Public Institution Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo, visited a five-member family included in the Service’s support program. The mobile team consists of Amina Pohara, Head of the Service, and Vesna Stanišić, psychologist.

Due to difficult living circumstances, the family is at risk of separation, which is why continuous and timely support is crucial to ensure that the children remain in their family environment.
The field visit also brought a difficult insight into their daily reality – empty fridge and a worried mother who that morning had nothing to prepare for her children’s breakfast. Situations like these show how close some families are to the line between stability and crisis, where even the smallest lack of support can have serious consequences for children.
Thanks to donor support, action was taken immediately. Basic food supplies were purchased for the family to ensure meals and to restore at least temporary stability in the children’s daily lives.
In addition, another monthly rent payment in the amount of 350 KM (175 EUR) was covered, enabling the family to remain in their home and avoid further stress and the risk of losing their accommodation.
This support was made possible thanks to the assistance of Stichting Amanet, whose solidarity and trust in the work of Foundation Second allow help to reach families precisely when it is most needed – quietly, with dignity, and with a clear goal: keeping the family together.
Because sometimes help is not a big campaign – but breakfast on the table and the security that children will not have to leave their home tomorrow.
