Last Saturday, the Bistri Izvor Association held its annual closing ceremony, during which diplomas, certificates of achievement, and awards were presented to children who attended the association’s educational and developmental programs throughout the previous school year.

Among the award recipients were children from the Cantonal Public Institution Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo, as well as children from the Small Family Homes in Blagovac, Kovačići, Marijin Dvor, and Sokolović Kolonija, who regularly participated in the programs of the Bistri Izvor Association throughout the school year.
One of the most memorable moments of this year’s ceremony was the opening of the program by children from Bjelave Home and the Small Family Homes, who recited Surah An-Nas. Standing before a packed hall, they demonstrated the knowledge, confidence, and self-assurance they had gained throughout the year, moving and inspiring everyone present.

For the second consecutive year, Foundation Second has supported the inclusion of children from the child protection system in the activities of the Bistri Izvor Association. During the 2025/2026 school year, more than twenty children from Bjelave Home and the Small Family Homes regularly attended the association’s weekend program. The children participated on both weekend days, except during the winter break, the month of Ramadan, and other school holidays, averaging eight visits per month.
Through these programs, they learned the Qur’an, acquired new knowledge, developed social skills, and spent time in a healthy and supportive environment. Their commitment, discipline, and progress were recognized at the closing ceremony, where they received awards for their effort, dedication, and achievements.
An additional strength of this program is the fact that the children are accompanied by Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second, who also attends hifz classes at the Bistri Izvor Association. Throughout the school year, she coordinated the children's participation, accompanied them to activities, worked closely with caregivers, and provided ongoing support during program implementation.
"I am incredibly proud of our children. Watching them open the program by reciting Surah An-Nas before a packed hall was one of the most emotional moments of this school year. Children from Bjelave Home and the Small Family Homes absorb knowledge exceptionally quickly. With their intelligence, dedication, and eagerness to learn, they repeatedly impressed the teachers and leadership of the Bistri Izvor Association, who openly expressed their admiration for the children's progress. Much of the credit belongs to their teacher and educator, Aldijana Adžem-Džebo, who worked with them throughout the year with great patience, care, and dedication, helping them recognize their abilities and build both knowledge and confidence. Their achievements show what children can accomplish when they are given opportunity, support, and trust," said Belma Mujezinović, Director of Foundation Second.
On this occasion, Foundation Second would like to express its gratitude to the management of the Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo for their trust and for the opportunity to support, accompany, and guide children through activities that contribute to their education, personal development, and well-being.
During the 2025/2026 school year, the total cost of implementing this program amounted to BAM 12,800 (approximately EUR 6,545). The largest portion of these funds was allocated to transportation, ensuring that children from Bjelave Home and the Small Family Homes could safely travel to and from the activities. Behind this figure are dozens of weekend activities, hundreds of kilometers traveled, and countless opportunities for learning, friendship, and personal growth.
We extend our sincere thanks to all donors who supported this program throughout the year. In particular, we are grateful to Stichting Amanet from the Netherlands for its €1,000 donation toward transportation costs, which significantly contributed to maintaining the continuity of activities throughout the school year.
We would also like to express our deep appreciation to our volunteers Senada Frljak and Nedžma Selimović, who supported the children throughout the year and contributed to the successful implementation of the program through their dedication, care, and commitment.
Our thanks also go to the Bistri Izvor Association, its teachers, volunteers, and all collaborators who worked with the children throughout the school year with love, patience, and dedication.
We pray that Almighty Allah bless these children with beneficial knowledge, keep them steadfast in goodness, guide them on the right path, and reward all those who invest their time, effort, and resources in their upbringing and education.
The diplomas and awards received by the children represent the culmination of a successful year and an encouragement to continue learning, growing, and believing in their abilities. Their success demonstrates what can be achieved when institutions, organizations, donors, volunteers, and communities come together to support the potential of every child.
