Preparations for the last summer holiday in Ledići, just before the start of the new school year, brought special joy to three children from the Small family home in Marijin Dvor – two sisters and their brother. Accompanied by their caregiver, Emira Makarević, and the director of Foundation Second, Belma Mujezinović, they went shopping for groceries that will brighten their stay in nature.

For them, this wasn’t just an ordinary shopping trip, but a real little adventure. The children happily picked fruits and vegetables, carefully weighed them, and with great delight placed the price stickers on the produce. Every step was an opportunity for them to be involved and contribute to the shared vacation.

“What is a daily routine for us, to them is an experience and a chance to feel important. Their happiness and involvement in such activities remind us how much small things mean to children,” said Belma Mujezinović, director of Foundation Second."
Through this activity, the children not only learned about the value and selection of groceries, but also felt the joy of joint planning and preparation. Their excitement once again showed how valuable experiences outside the home are for their development and sense of belonging.
