This week, the "Second" Foundation organized a workshop for the children from the Little Family Home in Blagovac near Sarajevo with therapy cat Ginger, who captured the hearts of many two years ago as the star of the BHRT documentary "Little Holiday House."

Eight children, aged seven to 18, reside in Blagovac under the care of the Public Canton Institution "Home for Children without Parental Care Sarajevo." The workshop took place in the yard of the house, where Ginger spent time with the children.

While the youngest ones laughed and played, Ginger calmly walked around the yard, occasionally nibbling on grass and enjoying the attention given to him.

Everyone was thrilled with this unusual gathering. Some held him in their laps, some petted him, and together they enjoyed the treats they gave him to eat from their hands.

"Therapy with the help of cats brings many benefits to children, including reducing stress, improving mood, increasing self-confidence, and developing empathy and responsibility. Additionally, this type of therapy can help reduce feelings of loneliness and depression in children who have experienced traumatic experiences," explained Belma Mujezinović, director of the "Second" Foundation.

Our Foundation has been organizing various humanitarian events and activities for many years, and therapy with the help of cats is just one of the many projects through which we strive to make life brighter for those who need it most.
